Hoang Hoa Tham Plant Market is one of the two heritage traditional markets in Hanoi. People only sell plants, pots and pets there. Seller may have shops or may just have the stuff on the pavement or on their motorbikes or bikes. The unique feature in this market is that there are six special days on which seedling plants and pet babies are sold. They are every 4th, 9th, 14th, 24th and 29th in lunar calendar.

One should be aware that the sellers would expect the first buyer in the day to be generous as it would bring about luck to them afterward. It is very pleasant to walk in the market to see variety of plants and pets. However, a seller would not be happy if you touch on something but will do not buy it, because it might be considered to be a bad luck for him/her.
